Use & Advantages of Technology in Education

Sharing is Caring

Education is based on a give and take policy.  It is imparted to the children in the schools throughout India. Schools in Dehradun boast of imparting well-versed quality education to the students coming far from within.

Thinking about technology is just like thinking about the future. It has done many great things in today’s world. Especially, in the case of education, the use of technology in education has evolved.

Modern Technology & Education has evolved. Education has changed its way completely over the last twenty years. Most of the arguments about technology give voice to different sorts of expectations about the change & progress of the nation.

Here are some positive points of its uses in imparting an education that can’t be ignored:

1. Distance learning made it all modern

In earlier times, students could take distance education. This process could be long and complicated but all thanks to technology. It has made it easy to continue education for the students as they can now take online courses at their convenience.

2. Instant & fast knowledge

It’s all about the modern era! Now, students don’t have to open their textbooks for any queries, instead, they can switch on to Google for everything.  They learn their passion via Google.

GOOGLE knows everything! From daily news to Current Affairs, Politics to Administrative affairs, it tells about all the stuff.

3. Can attend Web Seminars

Not every school has that many resources and a budget in hand to send its students on field trips related to the course of study. When this is the case, students’ education can suffer. But thanks to modern technology! Now, students can use internet technology to virtually attend these web seminars organized by museums and other educational institutions. I.e. NASA offers a program that allows students to talk to astronauts in space.

4. Online notes and audio-video conferencing

Gone is the time when children used to make deep notes of the chapters of their textbooks. Now they prefer notes that are easily available online. It reduces their lot of time as they used to go through a lot of materials related to the subjects.

Another major advantage of technology in education is Audio-Video Conferencing via the Internet. Now, students don’t have to wait for the next day to solve their queries with the teachers. They get connected to their teachers and can ask for their solutions instantly.

5. Research

In various boarding schools in India, classrooms are now equipped with smart boards, digital blackboards, computers, and laptops which help the students to learn in a better way.

Let’s take an example- if a school’s library is lacking in a good number of books or a selection of good titles, or is outdated. In that case, children find it difficult to complete their research on a particular topic.

How technology can help improve education?

With the onset of new technology, the educational sector has reached great heights.

About 96% of the school teachers said that it has helped a lot to improve the education of children in many ways. For example, students now get easy access to education via the Internet and catch up on online courses, and online ways of learning.

Most interestingly, online shopping! Now, children have an easy opportunity to purchase online books or study materials related to their curriculum.

Children who live far away from home have to be concerned about their health & nutrition. They have to cook their meals. For this, their only obvious adviser is the Internet! They watch online cooking videos and prefer YouTube or many online cooking websites.

Money has always evolved as an issue in education but the use of modern technology is helping a lot. Instead of paper electronic forms of education, virtual field trips, e-textbooks, and millions of free online learning resources all can save schools money while providing excellent educational experiences.

Hence, technology gives great resources to teachers and students and new learning opportunities. It has become a powerful tool for education.
