We all want our kids to become responsible and the ultimate goal of parents is to rear an independent & responsible child. This is the main problem with those parents or guardians who are serious enough in raising children after all it is vital for success in life both in the field of school as well as in later life. So far, parents can only provide them appropriate food, good clothing, shelter & medical facilities.

Teaching them responsibility can help them to grow into sensible and independent adults in life who are always accountable to themselves & for their actions. There are many ways to raise your child responsibly. Schools in Dehradun has made some points that will be helpful for you:

• Early age Responsibilities

You should start this step at an early stage. It is correct that responsibilities can’t be sprung upon a teenager. So, start thinking about it from a toddler’s age! Learning to tackle responsibilities from a small age sets an ongoing process for children. Get them on the right track as it’s never too early to teach responsibility.

• Assign tasks appropriate to their age & Set them limits

Also, it is very necessary to teach them about the importance of time management & organization as this will help them in their life.

 • Show them the right way

Show them how a particular work can be accomplished. This can be understood as if your child wants a bread pizza, show him where the things are kept & how to make one. Another example can be taken as does your son throws dirty clothes on the floor or keep them lying on the bed? Teach him by placing a hanger in his room & show him where the old-day clothes should be kept.

Never criticize them Try to manage/ limit your expectations & don’t criticize them in front of other people. In fact, you can scold or teach them lessons. For example, recognize a job well done as the next time when you make your own bed, let them see how you’re doing it. Never label them as ‘irresponsible’.

Make a great source of inspiration to them Show them what looks like in being a responsible person by going through your own promises & commitments like being everywhere on time (time punctual), accepting your mistakes instead of making wrong excuses or blaming others, etc. In short, become an inspiration to them.
