Rashtriya Military School was initially known as King George’s Royal Indian Military School and was established to educate the sons of military personnel. In 1952, this school was restructured to follow a Public School model which allowed admission for both the sons of Defence Service Officers and civilians. The school joined the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC) in 1954 and remains an active member today.
In 1966, the school was renamed Military Schools, and the motto changed from ‘Play the Game’ to ‘Sheelem Param Bhushanam,’ which means ‘Character is the Highest Virtue.’ On June 25, 2007, it was renamed Rashtriya Military Schools. Many alumni of these schools now hold prominent positions in the Armed Forces and other fields that contribute significantly to the nation.
Apart from this, the school has well-qualified teachers who look after the students with the utmost care and teach them how to be a disciplined person.
