The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Dehradun was established in 1994 and has been resuming its exertions in transmitting advanced and world-class education to the selected rural children of the district which would, and restrained of such facilities. The free education, free boarding, and lodging facilities make this Vidyalaya a remarkable institute. This Vidyalaya has already built a no of doctors, engineers, defense officers, and civil servants in previous years. The Vidyalaya aspires to establish itself as a pioneering institution in the district, persistently dedicating its endeavors to contribute to the betterment of humanity for a brighter tomorrow.

The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya also known as JNV, is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
